K12 and RET Summer Events (jUNE 5-jULY 20, 2018)
In Summer 2018, the Expeditions in Computing (CPS) team led Research Experience for Teachers (RET) programs.
These RETs were designed to allow STEM teachers opportunities to intern in a Scalable Health research lab for six weeks and develop grade level appropriate lesson plans based on their experiences. Six teachers were selected to intern at Rice University.
The six week program comprised of teachers conducting research, bi-weekly meetings with Graduate student mentors, reviewing journal articles, attending professional development meetings, and building scientific written and verbal communication skills.
All RETs at Rice University submitted to a weekly internship blog. http://rets.blogs.rice.edu
